Start automatic route calculation

Once you have set all the parameters, you can start the automatic route calculation based on the Excel® file.

  • To do this, click on the <Start calculation> button. Before the calculation starts, confirm the deduction of the calculations from your quota.

    Note: Depending on the number of data records in the Excel® file, the calculation may take longer. You can continue to work in PTV Map&Guide during the calculation.

  • The current progress of the calculation is displayed on an overview page.

    • As long as the calculation is running, you can stop the process using the < Stop > button. After stopping, you decide whether you

      • really want to <Cancel> or

      • <Continue calculation>.

      Note: Routes that have already been calculated by the time the calculation process is stopped will be deducted from your quota.

  • Once the calculation is complete, a summary of the calculation process is displayed. The summary contains the following information:

    • Number of successfully calculated routes

    • Number of routes not successfully calculated (e.g. due to insufficient geocoding)

    • Consumption of your credit by the calculations performed.

      • Note: If you cancel the calculation process, only the routes that have been calculated up to that point will be displayed.

If routes are displayed as not successfully calculated in the summary (e.g., because individual stops could not be geocoded), you can use the <Download error file> button to obtain an Excel® file with the error messages.

If the cause is geocoding, correct the affected addresses in the import file and then import the data again.

The error file shows the affected row of the import or result file, the error, and the internal cause of the error.
