What can PTV Map&Guide internet offer you?
Here we have summarised the most important improvements available to you in PTV Map&Guide internet.
Orders
In PTV Map&Guide internet, you can record orders with a pickup and delivery point, or link stop-off points from the stop-off point list to a particular order. In addition, you can add further information, for example for which price you will sell the order at. If the route is optimised, the pickup and delivery sequence is taken into consideration.
You can find out how to do this in the article Create orders.
Personnel costs
Personnel costs are a significant factor in calculating the actual cost of a transport. In PTV Map&Guide internet, you can create salary profiles to be taken into account in cost calculation.
Further information is available in the article Create wage profile.
Minimum wage
PTV Map&Guide internet determines the costs resulting from country-specific minimum wage laws for transports abroad.
European Parliament Directive 96/71/EC, enacted in 1996, provides that employees seconded overseas shall generally be subject to the same provisions regarding remuneration and working conditions as employees employed in their own country.
In some European countries, the Directive was implemented such that the national minimum wage or standard wage also applies to transports which are being driven by drivers from overseas into their own country.
In case of cross-border transports into or through the affected countries, PTV Map&Guide internet can take the country-specific minimum wage into account when calculating costs (see Include minimum wage).
The wage costs for each country are shown in the tab Report > Minimum wage and can be exported as a PDF and as an Excel® file
Improved cost calculation
In PTV Map&Guide internet, costs can be calculated realistically, as personnel costs can also be recorded and taken into account for cost calculations. Alternatively, you can add daily rates for subcontractors in the cost profile.
PTV Map&Guide desktop calculates the cost of a route based primarily on the distance covered, the cost rates stored in the vehicle and the toll costs. This is based on the individual stop-off points on a route which could not be marked as pickup or delivery points. Personnel costs could therefore only be taken into account to a limited extent.
New calculation view
Various functions for price-finding and break-even analysis are available in the calculation view.
You can get an overview of the total costs of the route and the empty journey percentage. By juxtaposing the expected selling price and the allocated costs, you can quickly get an overview of whether a transport order is worthwhile.
More information can be found in the article The calculation view.
Arrival time of goods
PTV Map&Guide internet allows the possibility of using the functions of PTV Drive&Arrive. PTV Drive&Arrive is a service provided by PTV Planung Transport Verkehr GmbH, which provides all parties involved in a transport cycle with the estimated time of arrival (ETA) in real time. The service runs in the background, you can use it without programming knowledge and do not have to worry about interfaces.

In the PTV Driver App, the driver can navigate from stop-off point to stop-off point and transmit the status of the delivery or pickup. As the dispatcher, you will be continuously kept informed and can intervene if problems arise during a journey |
Customer
The customer receives a link once the route has been sent showing the driver's planned and estimated arrival time. You can also specify whether the customer automatically receives information on various events, such as when the journey begins or if the driver's arrival is delayed. |
Further information can be found in the article When will the goods arrive? and via the table of contents of the Online help under the entry Send and monitor routes.
Compatibility with PTV Navigator
Planned routes can be transferred from PTV Map&Guide internet to the PTV Navigator via an integrated interface. Not only the stop-off points on a route are transferred to the navigation app, but also the entire route itself so that it can continue to be used to its full extent.
