Create user
Note: An administrator with login data from the PTV Map&Guide internet shop is automatically created in the list of users. This administrator, which has been created by the system, cannot be deleted. The administrator can use the login details (email address and password for the shop) to launch the administration tool and PTV Map&Guide internet. If the email address or password is changed in the shop, the changes are automatically transferred to the administration tool. The created administrator is activated by default for the use of PTV Map&Guide internet and uses one licence. You can release this licence by changing the status to inactive (see Change status or group).

In the navigation tree, select the entry User Management > Users.

Click on the tool bar > area User on New.
The Create user window opens.

Enter the user's data.
Area Element and description Note:Important: In the administration tool you can create as many users as you wish; however, the number of users activated to use PTV Map&Guide internet cannot exceed the number of licences available. If there are no more free licences available, the recently created users are automatically assigned the status non-active.
Selection list Status
In the selection list, you can set the status of a user.
Active: The user can use PTV Map&Guide internet for an unlimited period of time.
Non-active: The user has been created PTV Map&Guide internet, but cannot use. Non-active users do not require a licence.
Active until <Date>: With this entry you can select the date until which the user can call PTV Map&Guide internet. After the date, the user is deactivated and the licence is once again available.
User data Entry field User name (compulsory)
Entry of user name
Optional: Password entry. If you do not enter a password, it will be generated by the system.
Note:As soon as you save the user data, the user name and password and link to PTV Map&Guide internet will be displayed. Copy the access data into the clipboard and forward it, for example, per email to the user.
Tip:You can forward the User details later, as long as the User's password has not been altered. For this, in the context menu of the User list click on the Forward login data.
General data ID
Enter an internal ID.
Note:The entry of an ID is optional, and you can use it, for example, as a sort criteria.
Form of address
Selection of form of address.
First name / Surname
Entry of first name and surname.
Contact details Telephone/Mobile
Entry of telephone numbers.
Email
Entering the email address.
Note:As the administration tool operates as a Web service, for data security reasons we cannot create a link to your company's internal email client. However, you can insert the email address via the clipboard in your email program into a new message.
Group assignment Selection list Group assignment
Selection of the group to which the user should be assigned.
Tip:You can create more user groups (see Creating groups).
