Question:

The toll costs can also be calculated when calculating the route. Do these costs already include VAT?

Answer:

As different VAT rates apply in different countries, the toll costs in PTV Map&Guide are displayed as net costs, i.e. without the applicable VAT. For clarification, this is also displayed in the "Route information" panel after a route calculation.

Question:

I would like to create a bookmark in my browser to access the route planner. However, the address of the website contains a long, untraceable character string. This string is dynamic. This means that the link may be invalid the next time I try it.

Answer:

1. Create the bookmark with the long link.
   

2. Now open the bookmark for editing in the bookmark manager of your browser.

3. Here you can now replace the above character string with a hyphen.
   

4. Confirm this change with <Save>.
   
   

Question:

My import in the data manager fails. A message alerts me to possible data format problems. What format must the coordinates of the addresses to be imported be in?

Answer:

A point on a map is always described by a pair of coordinates, the latitude and the longitude.

In PTV Map&Guide, addresses can be imported and geocoded based on their coordinates.

The following coordinate formats can be used for the import:

• WGS 84 decimal degree
  Reference system is the WGS 84 WGS 84 (World Geodetic System 1984) is the global reference system for determining positions on Earth and the basis for GPS. It defines uniform geographic coordinates: positions are specified by geographic longitude and latitude (decimal degrees or degrees/minutes/seconds) and an altitude relative to the ellipsoid. This format ensures global uniformity in navigation and cartography. (World Geodetic System).
  The coordinates are given in decimal degrees,
  e.g. Haid-und-Neu-Straße 15, 76131 Karlsruhe
  Latitude 49.01334° (N) Longitude 8.4278° (E)
  

  Specification in the import file
  x-coordinate (longitude): 8.4278
  y-coordinate (latitude): 49.01334

• PTV Mercator
  Reference system is a Mercator projection.
  The Mercator format is an internal coordinate format that you can use to exchange geographical data in PTV Logistics products.
  For example, if you export a dataset from other PTV Logistics applications, you may receive the coordinates in PTV Mercator format. You can import such data sets in PTV Map&Guide and geocode them using the coordinates.
