User management

As an administrator, you can invite other users and manage roles.

Which roles you can assign depends on the roles available in the product. You can always assign the role “Admin”. Only admins have access to the user management.

Note: You can only invite as many users as your subscription allows.

The user management contains two tabs:

  • Current users
    Here you can see all active users with their assigned roles. You can remove users or change the roles.

  • Invite users
    you can invite users, send invitations again and withdraw. You can also see an overview of the current invitations and their age.

Send invitations and assign roles

  1. Select the “Invite users” tab.

  2. Enter the email address.

  3. Confirm that the user agrees to the invitation and data processing.

  4. Open the “Role” dropdown menu and select the desired roles.

  5. Click <Send invitation>.

The recipient is sent an email with an invitation link. The invitation link is valid for 14 days.

Note: Note that you are mentioned in the email as the contact person for possible problems.

As soon as the invited person has confirmed the invitation, the corresponding data is automatically displayed in the table on the “Current users” tab.

Note: Invited users need their own MyPTV ID to use a PTV product in the cloud.

  • The invited user does not yet have a MyPTV ID
    Via the link in the email, the invited user is forwarded to the MyPTV registration page. If the user does not yet have myPTV ID, she/he must register with the invited email address.

  • The invited user already has a MyPTV ID
    Via the link in the email, the invited user is forwarded to the registration page of MyPTV. By registering, the invited user accepts the invitation and has access to the subscription.

Send invitations again

The invitation is valid for 14 days. After expiry you can send the invitation again or invite a new person.

Note: If the invited users click on the invitation link after the expiry date, they will receive a note that you have to request the invitation from you again.

  1. Select the ”Invite users” tab.

    The status of the invitation is displayed in the “Pending” column.

  2. Select the desired user and click <Send again>.

The invited user receives an email with a new invitation link, which in turn is valid for 14 days.

Withdraw invitations

On the “Invite user” tab you can withdraw an invitation within 14 days.

Note: No email is sent to the user.

Remove users

You can remove a user on the “Current users” tab.

The user account is deactivated and the user is no longer displayed in the table. Instead, you can invite another person.

Note: The user account is not permanently deleted from the MyPTV platform, but the access rights for the account are removed from the current subscription.
No email is sent to the user.

Change role assignments

  1. Go to the “Current users” tab.

  2. Select or deselect the desired roles.

  3. Save your changes.

Note: No email is sent to the user.

FAQ

Where can I see the status of the invitation?

The status is displayed on the “Invite users” tab.

How can I display and sort table columns?

  1. You can toggle between the “Current users” and “Invite users” tabs to display the tables.

  2. To sort the columns, click on the name of the column heading.

What should I do if an e-mail address changes?

If a user's e-mail address changes, you must remove the user and send a new invitation to the new e-mail address.

How can I remove expired invitations from the table on the Invited users tab?

You can remove them by clicking on <Withdraw>.

Note: Expired invitations are automatically removed from the table after 30 days.
