User management

As an administrator, you can invite additional users and manage their roles.

The roles you can assign depend on the roles available in the product. You can always assign the "Admin" role. Only a user with this role can access the user management.

Note: The number of invited users cannot be higher than the maximum number of users allowed in your current subscription.

The user management contains two tabs:

  • Current users
    Here you can see all active users with their assigned roles. You can remove users or change the roles.

  • Invite users
    Here you can invite users, resend invitations and withdraw them. You can also see an overview of the current invitations and their age.

Sending invitations and assigning roles

  1. Select the tab "Invite users".

  2. Enter the e-mail address.

  3. Tick the checkbox "I confirm that the user agrees to the receipt of the invitation to register or be activated on MyPTV and to the processing of their data".

  4. Open the drop-down menu "Role" and select the desired roles.

  5. Click on < Send invitation>.

An e-mail with an invitation link will be sent to the recipient. The invitation link is valid for 14 days.

Note: Please note that you will be named in the e-mail as the contact person for any problems.

As soon as the invitee has confirmed the invitation, the corresponding data is automatically displayed in the table on the "Current users" tab.

Note: Invited users need their own MyPTV ID to use a PTV product in the cloud.

  • The invited user does not yet have a MyPTV ID
    The invited user will be redirected to the MyPTV login page via the link in the email. To receive a MyPTV ID, the invited user must register using the e-mail address to which the invitation was sent. After registration, the invited user can start using the product.

  • The invited user already has a MyPTV ID
    The invited user will be redirected to the MyPTV login page via the link in the email. By logging in, the invited user accepts the invitation and has access to the subscription.

Resending invitations

The invitation is valid for 14 days. Once this period has expired, you can resend the invitation or invite another person.

Note: If the invited users click on the invitation link after the expiry date, they will receive a message that they must request the invitation from you again.

  1. Select the tab Invite users.

    The status of the invitation is displayed in the column Pending.

  2. Select the desired user and click on Resend.

The invited user receives an e-mail with a new invitation link, which again is valid for 14 days.

Withdrawing invitations

On the tab Invite users you can withdraw an invitation within 14 days.

Note: No e-mail is sent to the user.

Removing users

You can remove a user on the Current users tab.

The user account is deactivated and the user is no longer displayed in the table. You can invite another person instead.

Note: The user account will not be permanently deleted from the MyPTV platform, but the access rights for the account will be removed from the current subscription.
No e-mail will be sent to the user.

Change role assignments

  1. Select the tab Current users.

  2. Select or deselect the desired roles.

  3. Save your changes.

Note: No e-mail is sent to the user.

FAQ

Where can I view the status of the invitation?

The status is displayed on the tab Invite users.

How can I display and sort table columns?

  1. You can switch between the tabs Current users and Invite users to display the tables.

  2. To sort the columns, click on the name of the column heading.

What should I do if an e-mail address changes?

If a user's email address changes, you must remove the user and send a new invitation with the new email address.

How can I remove expired invitations from the table on the Invited users tab?

You can remove them by clicking on Withdraw.

Note: Expired invitations are automatically removed from the table after 30 days.
