Geocoding

Geocoding means the correct positional assignment of a record to a point on the map.

Geocoding of imported records can be performed on the basis of coordinates or location information. During the geocoding process, the address entered or imported is searched for in the location database. Depending on the quality of the address data entered or imported, several, one or no matching results are found.

With manual geocoding, you can select the required location entry from the list of location suggestions. With automatic geocoding the selection of the matching location entry is made on the basis of adjustable criteria. If no city matches the set criteria, the data record is not geocoded.
